Style & making yume / mu
Design a playlist cover that still reads at thumbnail size
Choose one visual idea and test it where listeners will actually see it.

A playlist cover usually appears much smaller than the screen on which you design it. Begin with a tiny square sketch and one idea: a blue doorway for late-night songs, for example. The image should suggest a mood without trying to illustrate every track.
A closer look
Start small instead of shrinking a poster
Use a photograph or drawing you made, or material you have permission to use. If you add words, choose a short title and check it at thumbnail size. Do not place the only important detail at the edge, where a particular interface may crop it.
Compare the cover against both a light and a dark background. A fine pale border can disappear in one setting, while a dark photograph may lose its outline in another. Save a clear master separately from the small version you upload, so revisions do not start from an already reduced file.

A meaning to make your own
A thought to give
A playlist card can accompany a dream-themed gift. Check that the recipient can open the link before treating the cover image as a complete listening experience.
Make a gift cardOne more question
Should I put every artist on the cover?
The track list is the better place for complete credits. Keep the cover legible and avoid implying that an artist endorses your personal design or gift.
A character to carry with you 夢
夢 means dream. It may fit an imaginative listening mood, but the character does not make a playlist a particular musical genre or a traditional Japanese selection.
