Organise travel receipts before they lose their meaning
Keep a simple record of purchases, shared expenses and items you may need to check later.

A collection of travel receipts becomes confusing when you no longer remember what each slip represents. Before the trip, choose a small envelope or a private digital folder for records you actually need. Separate a personal memory from a purchase you may need to return, a booking record or a shared expense.

Give each receipt one clear purpose
When saving a receipt, add a short note about the item and date if the printed description is unclear. Keep the original amount and currency visible rather than replacing them with a remembered conversion. For a shared purchase, record the agreed participants and purpose while everyone can still clarify it.
Photograph a fading or fragile slip clearly, including the details you need, and check the image before discarding anything. If a return, reimbursement or other process requires an original, follow that provider's actual requirements. A convenient photograph does not automatically replace every form of evidence.

A meaning to make your own
A thought to give
For a traveller's gift, a small reusable document pouch can accompany a travel motif. Choose around the person's habits; a garment should be useful on its own, not depend on a complicated record-keeping ritual.

Should I write over the printed receipt?
Keep important printed information readable. Use a separate note or label when your explanation would obscure a date, amount or reference that may be needed later.
A character to carry with you 旅
旅 means travel. The connection is preserving enough of a journey to understand it later, without asking every receipt to become a meaningful souvenir.
